Todd Haley was never 100-percent on Tyson Jackson pick. He wanted best player available, not a system D-end. & he wasn't good at hiding it.

On the Matt Cassel issues, Weis didn't think he could cut it. He argued with Haley over Cassel's development.

I think Haley deserved to lose his job. He is supposedly an offensive "genius"?? Our offense can barely get first downs.. With all the talent on this offense I would think that he could come up with SOMETHING. He should have been gone after the Detroit game.

I think Haley just flat out didn't care this year and knew he was out the door. No reason to keep playing Palko. There were third and longs last week where we didn't have a single playmaker on the field... we had everyone but Bowe, Baldwin, Breaston, and McCluster for some snaps.... and there is no reason for there to not be at least one if not two of them on the field ever... especially in that situation.

Maybe Haley decided to purposely throw the rest of the season for the draft and it pissed off Pioli

I think Haley knew his game against the Jets was his last game. Did you see the players on the field? Urban? Copper? Over Bowe and Baldwin? Seriously? I read somewhere Pioli considered firing him after our playoff loss to Baltimore. Maybe thats why he handled everything the way he did with the offseason and all of that this year. He knew it was coming..he gave up from the start.

If Haley thought he might get fired and actually reacted in that way, that is a fuckin shame man. You would think that as a man you would want to step it up. Good bye Haley.

Todd Haley's Paycheck From The Chiefs Comes Into Question

And we thought this was all over.

Apparently not.

Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 Sports in Phoenix is reporting that he is "[h]earing" that the Chiefs are "refusing" to pay Todd Haley the remainder of his contract, which suggests that Haley was fired for cause. As in did something detrimental to the team.

And, before anyone asks, playing Tyler Palko isn't a reason to fire him, especially when GM Scott Pioli already said, "That was not an issue at all." (I'm not sure the people saying playing Palko is a reason to be fired with cause are actually serious or not...I'm assuming not.)

These are issues usually resolved between the coach, team and the league so the process will move somewhere in that direction if it is indeed accurate.

It used to be the Raiders were the only team who had stories like this written about them, the alleged (and denied) phone bugging and the firing of a coach with cause.

Uh-oh: Are the Chiefs becoming the Raiders?

(Edit: They're actually like seven straight four-win seasons from being the Raiders.)

Espn
Are the Kansas City Chiefs taking a page out of the Oakland Raiders’ playbook when it comes to former coach Todd Haley?

They might very well be, according to a tweet from Arizona radio reporter Mike Jurecki. He tweets that he is hearing the Chiefs are refusing to pay the final year of Haley’s contract for cause. This has not been confirmed. If that is the case, it means the Chiefs are saying they fired Haley for a specific reason that was problematic to the team, and that they don’t feel like they should have to abide by the contract. Former Oakland owner Al Davis had similar interactions with some coaches he fired.

Haley was fired last month. If the Chiefs are refusing to pay the final year of Haley’s contract for cause, Haley and the Chiefs will likely engage in a grievance. This month, the Kansas City Star ran a story saying Haley thought the Chiefs tampered with a personal cell phone.

Whether the Chiefs are trying get out of paying Haley or not, there is no doubt there were serious issues between Haley and the Chiefs.

I sure would like to know what the hell happened. This is not good for attracting coaches or FAs.
