Rumor is that Shanny wants him in D.C. By the way we ran our Offense in those 3 games, I can see why. Shanny likes to run playaction and Orton did a pretty damn good while he was here as it seemed to be how Zorn and Muir restructerd our O. |

| I guess all we can do is wait and see. And see what kinda cards we are dealt. I think Pioli is trying to put a SB team together. If he wasn't we wouldn't have so much talent now. He has made a few mistakes I agree. I still wanna see where he takes us. |

| He has made all of the right moves. Not everyone is perfect, but this roster is in 100x better shape than it was when he took over. All he needs is to find a QB and we are golden. _________________ |

| It's a little interesting all the Stanzi/Brady comparisons there where before and after the draft, and hes even handling him the same way Bill did in NE. _________________ |

| Stanzi could be a Brady maybe. I doubt it though. If he stays back and learns slowly and gets put in at the right time you never know. |

Are we also going to wait for Cassel to get hurt so were pretty much forced to play him?_________________ |

| Romeo Crennel: 'It's More About Brian Daboll Than Matt Cassel' by Joel Thorman on Feb 7, 2012 10:55 AM CST
0 COMMENTS EMAIL PRINT One of the reasons I thought the Kansas City Chiefs hired Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator was because he ran an offense similar to the one in which Matt Cassel has had his most success. Maybe that played a role in the hire but it wasn't the overwhelming reason why Daboll was hired, Romeo Crennel said on Tuesday.
"It's more about Brian than it is Matt Cassel," Crennel said on a conference call with KC reporters this morning.
Crennel said Daboll was the first person he offered the coordinator job to and that the search took so long because Daboll was under contract with the Miami Dolphins. He also indicated that the Dolphins wanted to keep him and other teams were interested in him as well.
As for the the offense he'll run, Crennel said when you compare it to KC's offense last year or New England or Miami, it's more like the Dolphins. "You can see some no huddle, you can see some multiple tight ends, you can see some two back, some one back, so we can see it all," Crennel said. He also mentioned having balance in the offense as far as the running and passing game is concerned. _________________ |

| I'm alright with this hire. He started off slow in Miami, but over the second half of the season the Dolphins offense was ranked #11 _________________ |

| Crennel: Expect Chiefs offense to resemble 2011 Dolphins Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on February 7, 2012, 12:11 PM EST APChiefs coach Romeo Crennel spoke with Chiefs reporters on a conference call Tuesday about the hiring of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
We weren’t on the call, but the reporters that were passed along the necessary information. Which is easier for us.
Crennel answered criticisms that Daboll is just another branch of the same old New England coaching tree in Kansas City.
“I know a lot of people say he’s another guy from the New England tree, but it’s been a while since he’s been in New England,” Crennel said. “Sometimes knowing people and knowing what they’re about is important. I know that was important to me.”
The new Chiefs head coach talked about balance on offense. And he pointed out that Kansas City won’t suddenly start copying the Patriots. They will look more like the 2011 Dolphins.
“To say that it’s similar to what we did last year or similar to New England or similar to Miami, it’s probably more similar to what Miami ran than anything else,” Crennel said.
That remark may attract some snickers, but Daboll did a fine job in Miami with players like Matt Moore and Reggie Bush. The Dolphins weren’t the most talented group in the league. Daboll was apparently Crennel’s pick for coordinator all along, but the team had to wait until his contract was up in Miami.
Daboll said he wanted an attacking, up-tempo offense that would use multiple personnel groups.
Daboll will not be a position coach and will focus on his coordinator responsibilities. It remains unclear if quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn will remain with the team, but Crennel wants him to stay.

| Hopefully Zorn does stay, would be pretty sweet if we can land Al Saunders as the WR coach too if/when hes released from the Raiders. _________________ |
